Seoul International Food Film Festival Opening Ceremony

On October 25, the opening ceremony of ‘Seoul International Film Festival’ was held at Artnine. This year, the film festival is based on Spanish gastronomy, and therefore offers various Spanish related themes. A total of 25 movies are to be on screen during the festival and 6 Spanish films including ‘Jamón Jamón’, ‘Cooking Up a Tribute’ will be presented to the audiences. Since the festival celebrates Spanish cuisine and culture, audience will enjoy various Spanish culture related themes.


For the opening ceremony movie, ‘Constructing Albert’ was selected. The movie was made to mark one of greatest chefs in Spain, Albert Adrià. He is famous for his creative work and unlimited ideas on dishes. The director of the fim, Jim Loomis attended to celebrate the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, there was a reception and networking event. The Spanish Embassy and ESCCK participated as sponsor for the festival and the Spanish Ambassador to Korea,  Mr. Gonzalo Ortiz, made a speech to celebrate the event as well. There was delicious food that was prepared by one of our member, chef Edgar and his Sobremesa teams. Also, Jamón and other flavorful food were provided by one of our member, Iberko. Finally, our member Muse International made a contribution by offering Estrella Damm. Special thanks to our member for their support.


It is a wonderful festival and a good opportunity to promote Spanish culture and cuisine. ESCCK was honoured to take the part of the festival and we hope to participate next Seoul International Film Festival as well.
